Headline News - Renga Continues Impressive Run and Solana NFTs gain ground on Ethereum

ETH sits at almost exactly the same place it was last week, bobbing around the $1,330 mark. OpenSea saw an uptick in overall volume compared to the week prior, and Renga was undoubtedly king in terms of collection volume, with one trader sweeping 165 of them having borrowed 600ETH against 7 Bored Ape Yacht Club NFTs.

There were several impressive runs from new mints which provided a glimpse of hope that the market may be becoming slightly more agreeable, but most were short-lived pump and dumps.

This weeks biggest sale was another CryptoPunks NFT. Although not in the region of the monster 3,300ETH sale last week, it still fetched a handsome 980ETH for the seller.

Solana NFTs seem to be closing the gap on Ethereum as reports noted a steady volume of traffic throughout September. Art Blocks released an article outlining their direction for the future, Zuckerberg’s Metaverse app appears to be underwhelming and it’s been confirmed that Three Arrow Capital’s NFT collection will be liquidated.

Talking Point - Where do we go from here?

I see a lot of chat online about the current state of the NFT industry, with commentaries on its flaws as well as the potential drivers which may be the catalysts for its next growth period.

There’s certainly a lot of building happening in this bear market and a lot of innovative ideas are being explored. I’m a firm believer that NFTs and SBTs will proliferate throughout our digital environments over the coming years, in many guises, and to a large extent, in ways whereby the end user is oblivious that blockchain technology is even involved.

For example, I think the ticketing industry will be a huge beneficiary of NFT technology in the coming years, but via a conduit that doesn’t require the end user to have a metamask wallet, a CEX account and a knowledge of seed phrases or gas prices. For the big onboarding events to happen, things need to be easier - simple UI/UX’s, familiar payment options (credit/debit cards) and ease of access.

We’ve already seen NFT use cases in art, pfps, music, metaverse wearables, metaverse land, metaverse avatars, video clips, domain names, community access tokens and fractionalized/shared ownership, amongst a host of other things too. But this is still just the beginning. There’s way more utility and use cases coming and blockchain technology will become an integral part of everyday life.

Tip Of The Week - OpenSea implements bulk NFT listings and purchases

The community has been asking for this feature for quite some time, and finally, on October 5th, OpenSea announced that it is live.
