Headline News - NFT Daily Volumes Hit 3-month High, BTC Hits 5-month High & Yuga’s Sewer Pass Is Flying
Sewer Pass absolutely obliterated its counterparts in terms of 7-day volume, with over 14k ETH traded. This is one of the highest weekly volumes for a collection over the past several months. CryptoPunks in second spot, followed by Mutant Ape Yacht Club in third, a KID called BEAST in fourth and The Memes By 6529 is in fifth.
Several new mints performed very well over the past week, occupying 4 of the top 10 spots by overall volume. Aside from Sewer Pass and a KID called BEAST which are mentioned above, we saw Createra Genesis Land and The Harvest by Per Kristian Stoveland in 7th and 9th spots respectively. Createra Genesis Land, which is dedicated to providing the best platform for game creators to build, experience, and monetize content, was a free mint. It sat at around 0.2 - 0.25ETH for a few days, before skyrocketing upwards of 1.5ETH. It’s now retraced back to around 0.84ETH.
A KID called BEAST ran into trouble during their mint, which came to an unscheduled halt. After some time, they decided they were going to assign remaining mint spots by “handpicking some of the most dedicated members of our discord community, the ones who have really gone above and beyond with their support, whether it be through twitter, suggestions, fan art, or engagement”. Mint price was 0.0777ETH. The current floor price is 0.52ETH.
Sewer Pass (from Yuga Labs), which grants holders access to a skill-based game called Dookey Dash, saw over $6 million in sales within the first few hours of trading. Dookey Dash was met with positive acclaim from almost everyone, which drove the Sewer Pass floor up further, touching 2.3ETH at its height. It’s currently sitting at 1.85ETH.
The crypto markets printed another week of green candles, with ETH up over 16.5%, BTC up over 20% and SOL up over 50%. MANA, the token of Metaverse project Decentraland, saw huge gains, up over 75% on the week.
Coinbase announced that they’re shutting down operations in Japan, whilst the Japanese government declare NFT transactions ‘will be taxed’ under new laws. Blur pushes back its token launch to 14th February, Binance tightens rules on NFT listings and Rarible announced they’re launching a completely free, bespoke NFT marketplace builder.

Talking Point - Your Time
ZenAcademy is a web3 company, yes. We’re proud of this and love (almost) everything about the space. But aside from that, or more than that, we’re an entity for good. We simply want to have a positive impact and influence on people’s lives. It’s really that simple. We’re using web3 as it’s fun, exciting, full of potential, and has opened up incredible ways for communities to interact and form around common values, goals and beliefs. But aside from exploring the captivating world of web3 together, we also want to encourage self development and personal growth, in the hope that we can help community members and beyond, lead more fulfilling, content and purposeful lives. To that end, today’s topic is about ‘your time’, and how incredibly important it is to be conscious of how you use it.
Zeneca released one of his much-loved Letters a few days ago. It was these publications, in combination with other offerings, which initially catapulted him into the hearts of the NFT community. One of the themes of the most recent letter was ‘time’, and its inherent scarcity. And it was this which immediately grabbed my attention.
Time, and my relationship to it, is something I’ve been heavily focused on over the past 24 months. Covid, which gifted me with an abundance of it, was the catalyst for these reflections.
A thread by punk6529, which was linked in Zeneca’s letter, really struck a chord with me. Albeit from a slightly different angle, it hit on something which i’d contemplated during the early Covid days. It’s related to time, and how much of it we have left to spend with the people we love most. And I think it’s something we should all take in to consideration.
I live 12,500km from my family (parents and sibling) and some of my best friends. In 2020, it occurred to me that at the current pace of visits, which is once every 2yrs, I’d likely only ever see my mum 10 more times before she passes away (using the average life expectancy of a woman in her country of residence). This was quite a shocking revelation, but I didn’t delve any deeper, as I was distracted by NFTs, mounting FOMO and the lure of abundance (or at least what I perceived as such). Looking back, i’m puzzled at to why, despite the initial impact, I never really revisited it, or took action to counteract it. I guess it’s all too easy to overlook what’s really important, whilst distracted by short-term gratification.
However, after reading punk6529’s thread on the topic, it reignited my desire to both revisit and alter my perspective on time. Primarily in relation to how I value it, and what I do with it. And although I live half way around the world from my family, you’d be astonished at how similar it looks for those who are only a stones throw away. (See what I mean here)
In my work as a coach, it’s evident that there are several universal themes, which (for the most part) are true for us all. By this, I mean we yearn for the following:
Community - a sense of belonging
Acknowledgement - we want to be seen and valued
Authenticity - we want to show our authentic selves
Social Interaction (Connection) - we want to spend time with other people
To Serve - we have a desire to be in service of, and help, others
To Work On Something Bigger Than Ourselves - we have a need to be part of a collective effort, working towards to a larger common goal than those of our own
Happiness - we simply want to feel content
This is by no means an exhaustive list, but it hits a lot of what I see in peoples desires. When we talk of time, it’s inherent scarcity, the fact we all want more it, but that we all (to some extent at least) squander it, it’s important to reflect on the above points. Spending your time consciously and proactively connecting with these themes, will most certainly have a rewarding and positive loopback effect on your mood and sense of purpose. Whether it’s spending more time with your children, making more effort with friends or ensuring you make space to be creative, the benefits of being in these zones is immense.
I implore you to look at your time. How do you currently use it? What would you like to be doing more of? What would you like to be doing less of? Where can you make time for things you love, but often overlook? Where can you make time for people you love, but maybe overlook? How can you reduce your “dead time”, which isn’t serving you in any way at all?
We don’t have long on this rock, but we can certainly enjoy it whilst we’re here. It just takes a little reflection, some introspection, and some time dedicated to getting to know ourselves. In this respect, it’s time well spent. In fact, i’d go as far as to say it’s invaluable.
