Headline News - Adidas & Nike Make Big Announcements, Sotheby’s To Auction 3AC Assets & Bluesky Attracts Prominent Web3 Figures
Bored Ape Yacht Club top the 7-day volume charts, clocking in at just over 20K ETH. This is less than 50% of the volume achieved by last weeks’ chart-topper, which came in at 44K ETH. Mutant Ape Yacht Club sits in second, Wrapped CryptoPunks is in third, Azuki is in fourth and BEANZ Official is in fifth.
The crypto market saw a large pullback over the past few days, leaving ETH down almost 12% on the week, at a price of around $1,856 USD. This led to another red week in terms of NFT floor prices of notable collections, with the exceptions of CloneX (which was last weeks worst performer) and Milady. Some of the worst hit this week, as shown in the image below, were Moonbirds and Opepen Edition. Both saw a drop of over 20%. Meanwhile, BAYC lost almost 10%, and MAYC almost 16%. It was a tough week all round.
In other news, Bluesky, Twitter’s decentralised rival, has attracted the likes of Rohun “Frank” Vora, pseudonymous Deadfellaz NFT project co-creator Betty, and Rug Radio co-founder and co-CEO Farokh Sarmad, amongst others. Reports suggest the platform provides a refreshing and welcoming atmosphere.
There’s also news of a team gearing up to fight against fraudulent NFT trading on Ethereum, an article suggesting that VC money is looking towards AI as opposed to crypto/NFTs, and we now know Sotheby’s will be auctioning off digital assets owned by the bankrupt Three Arrows Capital hedge fund.
A Bored Ape sold for 300ETH, Cool Cats opened the minting of new collection Shadow Wolves, Nike unveiled their first .Swoosh digital sneaker, Adidas announced a new Web3-inspired fashion collection, Moonbirds announced $TALONS and The Memes SZN3 has kicked off.

Spotlight - ZenAcademy @ NFT.NYC
For anyone who’s unaware, NFT.NYC is a premier Web3 conference. It’s an annual event, set in the bustling city of New York, and attracts innovators, investors, artists, developers, and enthusiasts from around the globe, aiming to explore the potential and impact of NFTs and Web3 in various industries.
The event facilitates discussions surrounding the development, adoption, and future of NFTs and Web3 technologies, showcasing a diverse range of topics, including digital art, decentralized finance (DeFi), gaming, the metaverse, AI and tokenization of real-world assets (amongst other things). Through expert-led talks, panel discussions, workshops, and networking opportunities, participants can expect to learn about the latest trends, developments, and emerging use cases in the NFT ecosystem.
NFT.NYC's significance lies in its ability to foster collaboration and knowledge sharing among industry leaders, startups, and enthusiasts. By bringing together a diverse and international audience, the event aims to drive innovation and accelerate the mainstream adoption of NFTs and Web3 technologies.
This year, several ZenAcademy team members attended the conference, and I asked one of them to share their experience. Praetor was kind enough to do so. Here’s what he had to say:
“I had the pleasure of attending my second NFT.NYC conference in New York City last week. Last year, my NFT.NYC experience was driven by FOMO. I needed to hit up every single party, every single night: ApeFest, Moonbirds, Doodles, Goblintown and more. While the parties were still in full swing this year, with events run by Valhalla, DeGods, and Taproot Wizards, to name a few, connection was the theme of 2023; forging connections between artists, founders, degens, collectors, and community members who remained engaged with the space despite the bear market.
This year, I took a more focused approach to the conference, attending one to two events per day and trying to maximise my enjoyment of those experiences. I honed in on the people and events that mattered most to me, and this year art turned out to be the glue.
I spent most of my time at art-focused events, meeting artists and collectors in the ecosystem. I love digital art, but there’s something really special about seeing it in person that no monitor has yet been able to replicate. The standard bearer in this respect is of course Bright Moments; their live mint of Emily Edelman's generative art collection Agar was one of my highlights. It was the first event held in their new physical space at Seaport, and it provided a more laid-back and relaxed atmosphere for attendees.
Another of the standout events was the Proof x Beeple party, which provided a glimpse into what might have been with Proof of Conference. It felt like a chance to breathe
new life into the Proof / Moonbirds ecosystem, and of course it was Beeple doing Beeple things, but live. His famous Elon, Bezos and Beeple masks were there, and every time I saw “Beeple”, I had to squint to make sure I was looking at the really Beeple. And of course, the after-parties – well, I can’t really say much about those :)There were so many other highlights; I had the pleasure of meeting Carly Reilly in person; I also managed to congratulate the HUG team on their recent raise at their artist
showcase in Seaport. I met Vitor, our content producer at ZenAcademy, for the first time! And on that note, I wanted to send a big thank you to all of the ZenAcademy community members who showed up in Central Park on Saturday to share a drink with us. It was wonderful to hear your stories and experiences at NFT.NYC.The whole thing was an incredible experience that demonstrated the wonderful, diverse, enthusiastic, and talented nature of the web3 community. Last year was fun, but
this year's conference was also meaningful. If you're on the fence about attending an in-person event, I couldn't recommend it more. If you’re in the US and are looking for some inspiration, I’ll be at VeeCon in May and Art Block Marfa in September, and we’ll certainly be doing ZenAcademy meet-ups at both. Seriously - after meeting your fellow degens face to face; you will leave with more conviction than you arrived with”.
As you can see, it sounded like a lot of fun, and it’s certainly invaluable to be able to make IRL connections in a space so dominated by online relationships.
You can follow Praetors adventures in Web3 through his Twitter account, or if you have any questions about his experience at NFT.NYC, feel free to chat to him in the ZenAcademy Discord.

Alpha Hub Expansion (ZA Discord) - We have been working to expand our “alpha hub” to provide more relevant information and education to our members. As a result, we've been working with Lendal and Alpha Traders Country Club (ATCC) to integrate Trading Bot Signals into our Discord. These Trading Signals should assist members who want to learn more about trading & gain a deeper understanding of the stock and cryptocurrency markets.
Alpha Hub Expansion (How It Works) - In the “alpha hub” area, you will see two new channels: │lendal-calls and │atcc-calls. Both are very different in their setup and the way the signals or calls are shown, as you can see in the respective channel. That said, we've pinned some messages in each channel to assist you read these signals and understand what they mean. Manual and algorithmic trading have various advantages and disadvantages, and Lendal and ATCC are two distinct companies. We decided to provide you with both, to give you more options to choose from and a more complete picture of trade signals. Come chat with us in Discord for more information.
